Due diligence is the art of sizing up an investment opportunity. Identifying value creation and estimating its sustained advantage is the core of due diligence activity. Our due diligence includes a general “methodical” process and a thorough evaluation of critical attributes. Our general due diligence checklist covers technology and product, business model, market size, management team, competitive advantage, capital efficiency, financials, and exit assumptions. We then deep dive into three key aspects: quality of the entrepreneurs, markets, and technology. We believe the best opportunities should have a healthy mix of all three, and a good assessment of these attributes requires real entrepreneur experience and domain expertise.
